All young people enrolled in the Theatre School are Student Members of Young People’s Theatre. Student members may audition for productions if they meet the eligibility criteria. Eligibility is determined on a production basis and includes the student’s age, experience, and appropriate attendance and participation in classes.
YPT is proud of its former student members who have remained committed to the entertainment industry.
Student Members in Year 12 may apply for Associate Membership. This form of membership enables students to retain their connection with the Theatre while concentrating on their HSC studies.
Adults subscribing to the objectives of the organisation and having submitted their name to the Executive for consideration shall be granted membership on payment of the prescribed fee. Parents/carers are encouraged to become adult members of YPT.
YPT is an incorporated body administered by a committee elected by the adult members at the Annual General Meetings. Adult members meet in the Theatre at 7.00 pm on the third Tuesday of each month. Adult Members may be invited by the Director to audition for productions.
Lindsay Street Players (LSP)
The Lindsay Street Players is a group formed under the umbrella of YPT. LSP caters for adult members who are still keen to participate in productions at YPT. Productions will include selections suited to a more mature audience than our general repertoire offers. To become an LSP member, you first need to be an adult member of YPT.
An Adult Member who has demonstrated outstanding service to the association may be conferred Life Membership of the association at the Annual General Meeting. There is no prescribed fee for Life Membership.
Patrons for each year are confirmed at the Annual General Meeting in March.
